The First Worldwide Produced Intelligent Anchor Cable Installation Robot was Completed and Put Into Application

The newly developed anchor cable installation robot KDMS2013 by Changsha Keda Intelligent Equipments Co., Ltd. has successfully completed industrial testing and been officially deployed in pumped storage power projects.

This robot is suitable for anchor cable construction in slopes, underground chamber vaults, and sidewalls in water conservancy and hydropower projects. Equipped with an integrated operation platform, it also features functions such as cable feeding and grouting. Its formal application has broken through the long-standing construction bottleneck of relying on "manpower tactics" for anchor cable installation in underground chambers and high slopes of hydropower projects. It enables the installation of a single prestressed anchor cable with just 2 to 3 workers, reducing the operation time to 20 to 30 minutes. This not only significantly lowers labor costs and shortens construction cycles for contractors but also provides a practical direction for advancing hydropower construction toward mechanization, intelligence, and unmanned operation.

Before the application of KDMS2013 anchor cable installation robot, the installation of anchor cables in hydropower projects was mostly carried out using traditional methods such as scaffolding or cranes combined with manual labor. Due to the objective characteristics of heavy weight and long length of anchor cables, a single operation usually requires dozens of construction workers to collaborate, and in complex scenarios such as high slopes, the number of workers can even exceed 40; The installation time for a single anchor cable is generally 2 to 3 hours, and the operation time for anchor cables in special parts such as arches can reach 7 to 8 hours.

The KDMS2013 anchor cable installation robot has outstanding advantages in mechanization, with a maximum operating height of 15 meters and an operating width of 8 meters. It can achieve "multiple operations in one parking", and after a single parking, 6 to 8 anchor cable installations can be completed by adjusting the telescopic arm. The efficiency and stability of mechanized construction are fully demonstrated.
The trolley is equipped with dual working arms for collaborative operation, and the main arm is matched with a continuously variable speed cable feeding mechanism, which can accurately adjust the cable feeding speed as needed; The auxiliary arm focuses on anchor cable hoisting and auxiliary traction, ensuring a smooth and coherent operation process, and deeply integrating the core advantages of mechanization into the entire process of anchor cable installation.

The KDMS2013 anchor cable installation robot integrates grouting system, realizing the integrated operation of anchor cable installation and grouting process. The mixing bucket equipped on the device supports one click quick start, easy operation, and stable operation. With the cooperation of a freely movable main arm operating platform, construction personnel can complete grouting of multiple anchor cables without frequently changing their work positions. After the grouting operation is completed, the equipment's built-in cleaning device can quickly clean the grouting pipeline, effectively avoiding pipeline blockage caused by residual slurry, greatly reducing the workload and cost of manual maintenance.
